How to choose a frame that is the same dimensions as your previous pair ?

All glass frame have numbers written about their dimension. Usually you can find these dimension on the inner side of the handles.

The numbers we must search for will usually be set in a row of three numbers, for e.g. 53-17-140. We can equate these numbers as 'a-b-c' in this text, for an easier understanding. Usually you will be able to see a small rectangle between the numbers 'a' and 'b', which will help you to notice easier.

The number which lies on the left side of the rectangle, or 'a' in our row, is the glass width. That is the width of the glass in it's furthest points, measured in millimeters. The number which lies on the right side of the rectangle, or 'b' in our row, is the bridge width measured in millimeters. It shows the distance between the two glasses - the part which sits on your nose. Finally, 'c' is the length of the handles, this number is not as important because the handles can be lengthened or shortened as required in any optical shop.

The most important numbers to choose a required size are 'a' and 'b'. Just match the measurements of 'a' and 'b' from your old pair with the new pair and thus you will have the same wearing experience as on your older pair. Even if there is a small discrepancy in the measurements taken, a slight deviation of 1-2 mm will not make a noticeable difference.

1. Stand in front of a mirror and hold the ruler in line with your temple.

2. Measure the distance between your temples in millimeters.

Now that you have taken measurements of your face, compare with the width of the frame that you want. This sum will be equal to the glass width times two, earlier we presented this number as 'a' ( a * 2), add to this the bridge with ('b' in our example).
